And the Gates of Hell Shall Not Prevail Against It

In Matthew 16:18 we find a powerful statement made by Jesus. Peter had just declared by divine revelation that Jesus was (is) not only the awaited Messiah of Israel, but also he Son of the living God. As Peter finished declaring this, Jesus blessed him and told him that his inside knowledge was by divine revelation. Now the debate continues over the 18th verse: “And I say unto you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”. Was the church to be built on the man Peter or on the declaration made by him concerning Jesus? Let us leave that debate to the theologians, as for you and I let us focus on the portion that states – “and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”.
For too long the church has been on an ever increasing retreat from the forces of darkness. Based on the previous statement made by Jesus, the church (we) should not be retreating, rather, we should be attacking. My brothers and sisters, just like in the case of Canaan, the enemy has setup shop all over the world. He set up gigantic Philistines in the Promised Land long before God’s people got there. He thinks that the creation is his.
Brothers and sisters, this is the case all over the world, and it’s the case in the islands of San Andres Providence and Santa Catalina. The enemy has set up shop. He has plagued these islands with drug trafficking, contract killings, rampant corruption, drug addiction, prostitution and so many other schemes of darkness. It is up to us to push back that darkness with the light of God.
There is a great opportunity for us to tear down the gates of hell in the communities of the islands. The Lord has given my wife and I a strategy to take the gospel to those dark neighborhoods by means of a projector, a screen and a computer. This is where your help is needed. We are in urgent need of an electronic projector to take the Passion movie into all the neighborhoods of these islands. The Lord has shown us that one of the ways to take back these islands is by transforming the lives of its inhabitants one neighborhood at a time. The cost of this projector is estimated to be $1,000 dollars. In addition, we will need an outdoor projector screen that cost $300 dollars and a pair of speakers that cost $200 (each). My friends, we can transform these islands with $1,700 dollars. God is giving you the honor to work with us on this soul saving project.
